5 Simple Computer Repairs Without a Technician

Before you rush to a repair shop or panic, try these 5 common fixes you can do right at home. No degree in computer science required!

1. Computer Not Turning On?
Check power connections, try a different outlet, or reseat the RAM. Sometimes it’s just a loose plug or a failed power strip.

2. Slow Performance?
Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), check what’s hogging memory or CPU, and uninstall unused programs. Also, run a disk cleanup.

3. Annoying Pop-Ups or Ads?
This could be adware. Download Malwarebytes or AdwCleaner, scan your system, and remove threats.

4. Keyboard or Mouse Not Working?
Try different USB ports, or test the device on another computer. Still nothing? Drivers may need reinstalling.

5. Wi-Fi Keeps Dropping?
Update your network drivers. Also, ensure you’re not too far from the router. A Wi-Fi extender might be a good investment.

Remember: If you’re unsure or dealing with hardware components, it’s okay to ask a professional — but don’t underestimate what you can do!
